On December 3, 2003, Commercial Metals (International) AG, Baar, Switzerland, a subsidiary of Commercial Metals Company, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, acquired a 71% interest in Huta Zawiercie S.A. located in Zawiercie, Poland, and changed its name to CMC Zawiercie S.A. (CMCZ).
CMCZ is a fully modernized company with a stable production cycle, organization and labor system, and most importantly, the company is environmentally responsible. The management of CMCZ looks beyond these achievements with a focus on the future development of the company. Thanks to most modern technological and design solutions that were applied in CMCZ, it is now possible to realize the very strict requirements of engineers, contractors and manufacturers with regards to the technical parameters and production quality of concrete reinforcing bar, rounds, squares, flats and wire rod for further processing both in Poland and abroad.
CMCZ is a leader among Polish steel mills, selling its products in the Polish and export markets. Sales in foreign markets has expanded because of the global distribution network of CMC, which is a considerable achievement considering the highly competitive nature of the export market.
